Metzeler supported racers stood upon the podium in two closely fought Supersport and Superstock events at today's Isle of Man TT races.
Guy Martin rode a strong race in Supersport to take second after the disappointment of his previous Superbike speed penalty whilst local hero Conor Cummins rode to a determined third place in an ultra competitive Superstock battle.
A clearly still-frustrated Martin gave his team and the Metzeler tyre technician a big 'thumbs up' and conceded that his rival Ian Hutchinson had ridden a great race to take the win.
The Superstock race logged incredible speeds and position changes as the top five finishers all clocked 128mph+ average lap times, showing the capabilities of modern road bikes and their tyres.
Both classes saw racers circulate for four laps of the 37.73mile course with no tyre changes, with only a half-way stop for refuelling.
It was a disappointing day for the Relentless Suzuki by TAS squad as Cameron Donald and Bruce Anstey seemed slightly off the fast pace of the top runners.
Metzeler Racetec Interact tyres have made a massive impact with their introduction in the Superstock class at British Superbikes with lap records being smashed by up to a second at every race. The patented technology and engineering behind the tyre is the result of a sustained Metzeler research project aimed for maximum grip and stability. The tyre provides pure performance without compromising tyre life, the perfect traits needed to endure the longest and most demanding of road race in the world, the Isle of Man TT races.
Jason Griffiths, Metzeler Racing Manager, commented, "The Metzeler Racetec Interact tyres have had a massive effect in Superstock at all levels and it was good to see two of our riders climb the podium today. Guy showed he is back as a force on the Island and Conor continues to impress in front of his home fans."
The latest Racetec Interact tyres are available in four compounds: K0, K1, K2 for the racer and track day enthusiast and the K3 for general road use. All are available for normal purchase via your local Metzeler dealer and for more information visit.
